Apparently, it’s that time again. The Cheap Seats have a fresh coat of paint. There’s still some areas that I’m playing around with (and, remember, I’m not all that swift with this stuff). I think this one is much more, uh, readable (is that a word?). And less red. Definitely less red.
A couple of changes you might notice. I’ve killed the Vs Last Year graphic up at the top of the page. It’s not really gone, actually, just moved to the recap of that game (example). I’m continuing to tweak around the ads in an effort to maximize income (ha ha, not really) while trying to be as non-obtrusive as possible. That’s kind of an oxymoron, I guess, but at least be aware that I’m cognizant of it. I’ve killed the noisy ads and I think all the blinking ones as well. For now, at least.
The mix of stuff in the sidebar (all the junk to the right) is going to get tweaked. For the most part, though, WYSIWYG. Let me know if you see anything that you think could or should be changed.

I like it, except it’s not clearly identifiable as an Avalanche site when you first load the page. I don’t think it has to be like Avalanche guild or anything. It can certainly be subtle. It’s just a tad understated is all.
Couple of quick notes (I’ve only looked at the change for five minutes tops)
- Everything is centered again on comments.
- I loved the RSS feed things on the old site from the Denver Post, RMN and MHH.
I knew I was forgetting something. The centering thing should be fixed now.
I’ll bring the RSS feeds back. I’m still futzing around with that sidebar a bit.
I agree 100% on the Avalanche site thing. I really don’t want it to be “too Avalanchy” (take that, Mirriam Webster), but I do want to identify the site a bit more with the Avs. I have some ideas that might help that for the not too distant future.

I’ve never used blogger. I do love Wordpress though. It definitely has taken me a while to get comfortable with it, but I’m a big fan.
btw, I was really looking forward to watching tonight’s game, even with the late start. But I’m fighting a cold, so I don’t think I’m going to make it. I’ll probably get to see the 1st period before dosing off into a medicine-induced slumber. *sigh*
