It’s a critical time for the Colorado Avalanche. In an example of not-so-perfect timing, I will be in the Caribbean for the next few days. While I am more than excited to be going, I’m kind of bummed to be missing the debut of Ruslan Salei tonight as well as the return to Denver of Adam Foote and Peter Forsberg on Saturday. Oh well. I guess I’ll just have to make do with sand, sunshine and fruity drinks with those little umbrellas by the pool.
I don’t know if I’ll have time or connectivity to check on this site, so assume there will be no updates until next Tuesday. The graphics in the sidebar probably won’t be updated, I won’t be able to check any comments (or approve comments from new or unrecognized posters), etc etc etc. Thanks for your patience.
Go Avs.
EDIT: Apparently, I’m going to miss a lot of off-ice drama as well. *sigh*

have fun dude! i’ll try not to get any comments locked so you can read it when you get back.
Mr. Net Nanny over there may go wild with control if this whole Sandy thing gets out of hand.
Enjoy a well-deserved break in the sun.
The intrawebs will be will be here for you when you’re back.
You wouldn’t have been able to watch the Avs-Canucks game anyway, since you get Center Ice like the rest of us and that was blacked out.
LAAAAAME.
It was on the NHL Network and let me tell you the PK looked awsome Foote & Salei fit right in
Center Ice was not blacking the game out for me…? I got to watch it fine. (I have DirecTV if that makes a difference) it simply was on the NHL Network, which, as I understand, gets broadcast to any Center Ice subscriber (for DirecTV, channel 215).
I get the NHL Network on DirecTV but do not have Center Ice. But because I live in the Denver area, the NHL Network feed for the broadcast was blacked out, and I had to watch the game on Altitude, with their “Obstructevision” policy of putting ads on the screen during play.
Bob,
AND, the NHL Network feed was in HD, Altitude’s was not.
BTW, those Best Western adds are just about to convince me NOT to stay there.
the NHL network is not available to any Center Ice subscriber. Only yo those who have Direct TV… FYI

OOh. Don’t tell my girlfriend that, she’d hate to know there was a way for me to watch the Avs without also having a 24/7 hockey channel!
