What’s uglier than talking about Colorado’s slide? Talking about the Bertuzzi incident again. TSN is reporting that Marc Crawford ordered the attack on Steve Moore, by telling his team during the 2nd intermission that Moore “must pay the price”.
I’d say he paid the price. Wouldn’t you agree, Marc?
I knew that asshole encouraged payback but I never thought he’d be so idiotic as to actually put his number on the board and make a statement like that to the whole team. In light of that, how in the world could Bertuzzi’s lawyers allow him to lowball a settlement amount (I think it was $325,000?) when you know your client already testified under oath that the assault was premeditated. What is said in the room doesn’t stay in the room when you are compelled by law to disclose it. Just when I think I’m past this thing they pull me back in. I hate Burke and Crawford with a passion.
Crawford deserves every humiliating loss as a Kings coach. Every one.
Crawford would be one of the best coaches in the game if he weren’t so batshit crazy and insecure.
Jesus. Somehow I’d forgotten just how horrible this whole thing was until today. The Debriefing column on AOL Fanhouse led with this today, with the YouTube imbed of the assault. I just watched it twice and now I’m practically sick to my stomach.
Bertuzzi seems like a dumb mf, borderline neanderthal. Doesn’t excuse anything he did at all. But I can see how Crawford goaded him into this. Of course Crawford didn’t want anyone to break Moore’s neck, just like the idiot who shot Sean Taylor in the leg probably didn’t intend to kill him. But when you assault someone, whether it’s with your fists or a gun, there’s a decent chance that things can get out of control.
Looking back on it, give Tony Granato for losing his mind on the bench and trying to literally fight for his player. Give Nikolishin and Derek Morris credit for quickly coming to Moore’s defense. Johan Hedberg, you a joke, you just embarrassed yourself standing at the red line and challenging Aebischer after a fellow hockey player had just been assaulted. And Brad May…what to say about the one player in the league who might be dumber than Bertuzzi? Congratulations on beating up Kurt Sauer, that’s great.
And Marc Crawford…I’ll never look at this guy the same way again. I hope the league suspends him for life. I hope he loses a lot of money over this. I hope his conscience kills him every single day. His reaction made me sick. Bertuzzi’s I expected, but Crawford…what a gutless prick:

All I have to say is that if all this is true…then it should be considered as premeditated (which it is) and both Crawford and Bertuzzi should lose their jobs and their careers. Bertuzzi should not be playing even today in my opinion. and Crawford should be banned from the game for the rest of eternity and even longer. Just sickening!
Even worse than banning Crawford for life, the NHL should make him coach a really bad team….a laughing stock…like the Kings. That’s what he deserves.

How you all forget? Your prized Tony Granato, ease off I like him a lot, whacked a guy over the head with his stick while playing for the Kings. He could’ve ended the guys career, but was lucky. He was still suspended for 15 games.
