Curious news out of Anaheim today. Ilya Bryzgalov, touted as a hot commodity on the trade market this year, has been waived by the Ducks. The Ducks apparently are clearing the way for Swiss goalie Jonas Hiller. I can dig that (but, ask an Avalanche fan how that Swiss goalie thing might work out).
I’m amazed, though, that the Ducks seemingly weren’t able to get anything for Bryzgalov on the trade market. While I personally doubt that Breezy is the bonafide #1 many people are making him out to be, he still should have value to any number of teams with some question marks at the position. As usual, NHL GMs are here to remind me that I don’t know what the heck I’m talking about.
