*sigh*

The Draft is not a dartboard. Citing examples of busts doesn't strengthen your argument.

A good GM with a good scouting staff can make good drafting decisions. Citing examples of poor GMs making poor decisions doesn't mean that the good GMs can't make good decisions.

Your position is lazy and uninformed. Instead of spending five minutes with hockeydb to cherry pick examples to provide evidence for your inane argument, why don't you spend a couple years pouring over the data and find actual trends?

If you did, you'd realize how short-sighted and misinformed you are.

Werent The Duke, or Alex "mid" round picks? I think, honestly that it all depends on scouting, and the Avs have proven they can scout very well.

So if you were an NHL GMK, wouldn't you trade away draft picks for useful players. What's the chances of an bottom half 1st round pick being a servicable NHLer 50%, 40%?

So why wouldn't the Avs trade the #14 pick to, say, Buffalo fot he rights to Zubris and sign him to a 3-year deal. Isn't that a safer route than actually drafting?

I'll never miss a draft day again after the heart attack that was last year. I get home from a day with my family and I see that We'd traded Alex....I screamed, and unless Leo does some amazing stuff this year, I'll still be unhappy about it.
