Last year, the Calgary Flames were relatively quiet at the trade deadline…and were subsequently bumped out in the first round of the playoffs. This year, the Flames are going for it. Two weeks after acquiring C Craig Conroy, GM Darryl Sutter won the Brad Stuart Sweepstakes, netting the young defenseman and LW Wayne Primeau from the Bruins for RW Chuck Kobasew and D Andrew Ference. Stuart, a UFA this offseason, has been expected to be moved all seasons with the Bruins unable to sign him to a longterm contract.







I like the trade, and if Stuart signs all the better for the Bruins. I would be all right losing the 4th round compensatory pick but I would rather keep it
