Another original 6 team has gotten it right. While the Predators and Panthers follow the credo that second-rate organizations deserve second-rate jerseys, the Red Wings are following the Bruins’ they-don’t-have-to-be-tacky lead. Detroit’s new jerseys look pretty much like their old jerseys. And that’s a good thing; if it isn’t broke…leave it alone. One “ugh” element: the obnoxious size tag they are adding to front of all the jerseys. Yuck.
Meanwhile, the Senators have leaked their new logo, and now have a preview of their new wordmark up as well. Their jerseys will be unveiled on August 22nd. I’m interested to see what they do here.
