I agree completely with your grade. He was maddeningly inconsistent and shouldn't be resigned unless he takes a cut or stays at the same rate. He did have some great games, but they were few and far between, which has been his problem since he entered the league. It seems like he doesn't care about anything. Read somewhere that Brett Clark made a comment to the effect that if he didn't wake him up everyday, Arnason would be late for every practice. Not worth it.

I agree with the two comments above. Definitely worth keeping if he can duplicate the kind of effort he put in during the Avs late-season run for the playoffs. He showed up almost every night and played his ass off.

To be honest, and I'm not sure too many people agree with me, but a lot of the Avs success during the 15-2-2 run at the end of the year was because Arnason seemed to "wake up" on the ice. Combined with Sakic and Stastny's amazing play, the Avs finally developed three solid lines.

I say keep him, but I also agree that he's not worth more than 1.5 million. Not yet.

I was pretty impressed with Arnason. On his good nights, he was incredible, and it seemed like nobody could stop him. The other nights, I completely forgot he was on the team. As you said, if only he could put up the same strong effort every night, I think he'd be a great asset for us. I'd like to see him back, but not if he wants more than 1 or 1.5 million.

Arnason is a very intersesting player, as you said. I was really suprised with how easily he could move through traffic and never seemed to loose his balance or even loose sight of the puck! It was amazing to watch. I think he could become more of an asset to the team if we keep him here. He came to us off a bad season with the Senators. Those kinds of seasons you have to recover from, and I think that that is what this past season was. I want to see him back next year, and lets see him shine alittle more!
