This isn’t much of a recap, as I didn’t watch the game. The Avs started out quickly, jumping to a 2-0 lead on goals by Ryan Smyth (PP) and Darcy Tucker. Then, in true Avalanche fashion, the team seemed to punch out - the Kings outshot the Avs 34-12 in the final 2 1/4 periods.
Paul Stastny led Avalanche forwards in ice time, so it seems as his shoulder injury isn’t much of a factor. And Brett Clark played 24:05 - welcome back! At one point, Darcy Tucker limped off with an injury, but he returned quickly and didn’t miss a shift. However, Milan Hejduk did not play the last 7 minutes or so of the game, and did not participate in the shutout. Rutrow Raggie?
And, as an added treat to all you 3rd jersey fans, I’ve got shift charts up for both teams. Be aware that these are a really crude report - I was literally finishing up some of the code last night as I was listening to the game. So, yes, I know it looks kind of ugly right now.
Note that this was the 19th NHL preseason game, which has to be some sort of positive omen. Right?

Um, did you put linemates next to each other in that chart on purpose? Is that some sort of crazy algorithym you’ve programed to figure out who’s on the same shifts? If so that’s more awsome than a 3rd Jersey. There’s still no cure for cancer but at least we have this. Well done!
Hey it’s preseason, so i’m not worried about a little lapse.
People gotta prepare for the season. For example Shane’s preparing for the season opener by getting a foot-rub.
(Making fun of Shane and his massage will never EVER get old)
It ain’t my feet she’s been rubbing!
Shift chart’s looking good. I like having linemates next to each other too. Smart move.
Not going there….
Budaj sounded pretty good last night, especially at the end of the second when he had to have faced a gazillion shots.
Hey, too bad its not Q, you could have put them in any old order and linemates still would have been next to each other!
I thought the linemates were grouped (at least roughly) in past ITCS shift charts…
Though as Eric said, I would have garnered that impression if DD had just separated the forwards with Q deciding the lines.
pingu is correct - they were arranged by lines last year too. on the surface (and in current form), these aren’t all that much different from last year, but there’s a lot under the hood that will make it MUCH easier for me to do them all season long.
