"We got our #1 DMan and Codey Burki for one-dimensional floater Alex Tanguay. We most definitely got something in return."

that's odd - I was sure we got Hannan through free agency.

And there is absolutely no reason on Earth to deal JoeTed right now. He's our #1, he's playing extremely well, and if you were going to make a cap move with him, the time to do that would have been over a year ago. The dollars left on his contract are very small and the Avs have plenty of cap room.

Especially when you consider that Budaj is a backup-caliber goalie anyway.

Trade Liles if you can get something to help build this team for the playoffs, definitely.

Budaj's two goals were really pretty inexcusable last night. I know everyone had stopped playing because it was a route, but when you're a backup goalie and you're fighting for the starting spot you have to take every chance to show your stuff. That one bad period could cement him to the bench (If sleeping with Q's wife didn't already do that)

While I like Liles and Svatos, I too am excited thinking about what we could get for both of those players, either individually or in a package.

and yeah, I really hope Budaj can bounce back (I'm thinking he'll play one of the games this weekend). He seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders. But damn he looked dejected after those goals...

It is nice to see the Avs finally win one against Chicago.

As the trade deadline approaches though, I find myself wondering who will be gone? I think I'd be ok with Liles going, if it meant we got something good and useful in return (unlike the Tanguay trade IMHO.) I also think that I'd be ok with Svats leaving. The kid is a scoring machine, yes. But a team destined for the playoffs might pay dearly for his scoring touch.

I think (hope more like) that Q has a 'plan' when it comes to playing Theo so much around the deadline. If we were able to trade him for something - anything really - that would help this team, great. But if Q has destroyed Budaj, as you alluded to, then we have a serious problem.
