The first place Colorado Avalanche (that sounds nice) host the Stars tonight. Avs are 0-1-1 against the Stars this year, losing 3-2 in OT in Game 1 and 5-4 in Game 21. In both games, Colorado blew a 2-0 lead.
According to the Denver Post, Jose Theodore gets the start, his 2nd straight (and 2nd this year against the Stars). Marek Svatos (groin) will miss his 3rd straight game, and 4th out of the last 5. For the Stars, Mike Modano is questionable and Steve Ott is out.
The Avs have allowed just 4 PP goals in the last 9 games, and are 6-3 in that span.
HOT: Joe Sakic has 13 points and is +6 in the last 10 games
NOT: Ian Laperriere has 1 point in his last 13 games.

Just a little addition: Stars captain Brendan Morrow will also be out:

“Dallas Stars captain Brendan Morrow will be out indefinitely after having surgery to repair tendons in his right wrist. Morrow suffered the injury when he was stepped on in Dallas’ 2-1 loss to Chicago on Tuesday night. He was discharged from a Chicago hospital on Wednesday morning and returned to Dallas, where he will be monitored and re-evaluated by the team’s medical staff.”
Go Avs!
