I want to say Ryan Smyth is overpaid, but he was so good in the playoffs last year and has always been in previous years for other teams. Hopefully his regular season #’s last year were a fluke. Maybe he didn’t like playing on a different line every 6 minutes?
I think Smyth suffered from Q’ism. Smyth should be parked in the goalie’s face and not behind the net. With Q it seemed all 3 forwards were behind the net when ever they were in the Off-Zone. Along with the above mention line juggle…
I personally expect Smyth to be one of the most improved players next year
Agreed, Smyth and Sakic will have much better showings because they should play a lot more games. They also should be used better. Last, they should get way more power play points.
