The Columbus Blue Jackets have fired their longtime GM and President, Doug MacLean. Under MacLean, the Blue Jackets managed a dismal 172-258-62 record and no playoff appearances (Columbus is the only current NHL team to not have a postseason appearance).
The Jackets were supposed to be a strong team this year, but mucked along to a 73 point season, 11th in the Western Conference.
