With the signing of European free agent Jaroslav Hlinka working out so well (despite the recent healthy scratches), the Avs have apparently gone back to the well landing another unknown foreigner.
Anyone know anything about this Peter Forsberg guy?

I’m suprised, actually.
Yeah, that is suprising considering the Avs playoff position.
As am I. I really thought it was over when he said, you know, it was over.
I wonder if this will lead to any additional trades? Bruno in particular seems an odd man out…
although I think Bruno and Forsberg would be a great combo together, I agree that he sounds like trade bait right now.
Straight-cash-homey! This appears to be nothing but management throwing the fans a bone since they probably won’t see the Avs in the playoffs this year.
No way does this help the team get to the playoffs. Hell, there is a distinct possibility that he won’t even suit up for anything more than a handful of games…
I bet the Avalanche sell a ton of season tickets in the next few weeks.
Actually, I don’t know about season tickets. This sounds like a “return to former team…retire” sorta thing to me. Hopefully I’m wrong, but I dunno.
They’ll sell more tickets to his rafter-raising ceremony when he retires officially as an Av.
This should come as a shock to really no one, but this wasn’t even on Eklund’s radar.
Lol Eklund
I actually am excited, for Hockey reason not just nostalgia, I will have a post on this at some point.
I am excited though
the sad part…he has to come back in those awful jerseys.
Probably just mean most if not all of the Lake Erie guys are gone (if Foppa can play). I’m still not sure I agree with signing guys late like this, but in Foppa’s case he has been injured and not just deciding if he wants to still play. Will be nice to see Foppa don the Burgandy once again.
Well, he had a little bit right when he said “My sources are telling me that they are expecting an answer from Forsberg today and once again I am hearing that maybe just maybe it is tilting towards him returning. Philly and Minnesota leading that one.”
He was leaning towards returning. Just not with either of those teams
I’m more worried about him leaning on that bad ankle.
