Covered in today’s lost recap was the news of Patrice Brisebois’ injury. Brisebois will have season-ending surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back. As this is the final year of his current contract, it is likely that he has played his last game in a Colorado uniform (with speculation that he may have played his last game in the NHL period).
The injury frees up $2.25 million in cap space for the Avs, but it seems less and less likely that GM Francois Giguere will be moving any young talent for roster help this year.
