Seriously, can it get any worse?
Avalanche forward Paul Stastny underwent an appendectomy today that will force him to miss up to nine of Colorado’s games and the NHL All-Star Game.
Are the hockey god’s still pissed at us for that Claude Lemieux guy?
TJ Hensick was recalled to replace Stastny on the roster. I have updated our team logo in honor of this latest devastating injury.
My girlfriend had appendicitis last semester, and she was back to full energy in about 5 days. Of course, the didn’t have to play a hockey game at any time. Energy can be lacking for about 3 weeks.
I can see it now….
All the Foppa lovers will be coming out in droves begging for us to sign him…

And a week later he joins Super Joe, Smitty, and Staz on the injured list.

Man, this is tough. I feel bad for Stastny, especially after getting named to the All-Star team.
However, if we can hang in there, this could be a character defining month for the Avalanche. We may learn how to “lock down” a little more on defense and while I am not on the Jose Theodore train just yet, he could prove himself valuable if he continues to play well.
From there, let’s get the 3 “S’s” back in March and pick up momentum going into the playoffs.
