at least half of the players used in the shootout had never scored in a shootout before (heck, many of them had never even had an attempt):

Hensick, Stastny, Hansal, Perrault, Jones, Ballard, Kapanen, Brunette, Jovonovski, Guite, Carcillo, McLeod. Obviously, McLeod and Perrault don’t fit in that category any more.

4 more who could be in that category, but I couldn’t verify it: Arnason (could he have had one in Chicago?), Liles, Lapperriere and Yandle.

I’m working late tonight because I couldn’t get anything done in the last half hour of that game. Way to go THEO! Parker should have been in that shootout - the guy CAN score when given the chance (he scored a ton in juniors, given that was 20th century news). I could see him dropping the gloves and then skating in and scaring the goalie into leaving the arena, then scoring!

pretty amazing game - not so much in the quality department, but in the way that so much hinged on that shootout win. had the Avalanche lost after blowing it with 2.8, they might never have recovered. They win, though, and hopefully get an assload of momentum out of this.

I’ve said before that Parker warrants more ice time when he’s in the game. Except that he seems to get phantom calls on him, like the “trip” tonight.

I was secretly pulling to see him in the shootout.

Even though I am unable to really watch this game due to the necessity of needing to finish some work I have been procrastinating, I was on the phone with DirecTV within thirty seconds of the game’s start to complain.

Anyone else surprised with Scott Parker’s play tonight, he’s got some real jump in his stride.
