I feel sorry for Hlinka. He signed a contract with the Avs because he was told he'd be a contributor to a high-scoring, deep offensive team. Instead, he's been saddled with checking-line and PK duties, linemates who couldn't bury a dead cat much less a centering pass, and a coach that has no idea on how offense contributes to winning. He came over from Europe as a savvy playmaking center with excellent hands. Instead, he's asked to be a grinder and forechecker and get sloppy seconds on the PP and PK. This NHL dream must be a horrible nightmare for him now.

For anybody keeping score, I count that as the 1,247th example of why 'Coach' Q should be canned.

I agree in your assessment that of the crappiest of the crappy, and last night there was plenty of crap donning the glacial A, Hlinka took home the mother of all loads of crap award. He was brutal. It is one thing to constantly turn over the puck. It is another to then stand around looking like you don't care. I was offering him a one-way ticket to Cleveland.

The joke is this team and more so it's coaching staff. The team no longer seems to give a rat's ass. They have no heart, no fire, no jump, no desire. They have already decided that they will be playing golf on April 7th.

4 straight losses, 4 straight home losses...i no longer think a 7 games streak is out of reason...it could be more.

Look around. You're the last one on the Bash-JoeTed-For-No-Reason Bandwagon. Everyone else has come to their senses.

For you to blame any of those goals on JoeTed is a joke.

I've given up trying to find any sort of logical validity to your analysis. You just plain hate JoeTed for absolutely no reason. Any time a goal is scored, you try to think of any kind of way that it could conceivably be his fault (and you fail miserably 80% of the time). There's nothing more to it than that.

Oh, and I'm on the flip side with Theodore tonight. I don't think he was superb but I don't think he was terrible. The first goal he was way out for but Franzen got in front of him with perfect timing.

On the second, that's a tough spot. I think he should have not worried about the flying puck but once he did and was down, there really was nothing left for him to do.

But if he had saved that first goal, it would have been a slightly different hockey game. The team was slowing down already but they appeared resigned to fate after giving up the first goal.

There are so many things wrong with this team it isn't even funny. When I start my post-game writing midway through the second period, that's not a good sign.

I'm the kind of guy who doesn't like to be disturbed when watching anything on tv for fear I'll miss something (even with a PVR) so you know it's bad when I'm not paying attention.

It will feel even worse when the team continues to play this way even with Sakic and Stastny back in the lineup.
