01.06.08Richardson demotedIn the continuing effort to clear all forwards off of our NHL roster, Brad Richardson has been sent to the AHL. Actually, he was sent down to make room for Tyler Arnason, a case of reality being funnier than my own joke. Richardson has been caught in the ice time / production vicious circle this year. He hasn't done much, which results in less ice time, which results in lower production, which results in less ice time...and so on and so on and so on. 01.06.08Recap: Avalanche 2, Islanders 1 (OT)(AP Photo/David Zalubowski) I need to get a couple of items out of the way before I descend into some vitriolic ramblings. The Avalanche won 2-1 in overtime last night, beating an excellent goalie at the top of his game (Rick DiPietro). Colorado as a whole played very well - forwards, defensemen and, yes, goalie Jose Theodore. At the halfway mark, despite a rash of injuries to key players, the Avalanche have a respectable 47 points...3 more than they had at the 41-game point last season. 01.06.08Notes: Game 41, Islanders at AvalancheIslanders against the Avalanche tonight. Game 41 – the halfway point of the season. I'm watching the NY feed, so I won't get to find out how long it takes Peter McNab to point out that all our games against the Atlantic Division have been decided by one goal (all in our favor). I don't know much about the Islanders at all, and could barely name anyone from their roster.
