11.16.07Recap: Stars 6, Avalanche 1I just need one sentence for it tonight: This was a terrible, terrible game. {{notes}} Avalanche fans who like punishment can enjoy the notes here {{lines}} The report is up. Obviously, the lines changed around a lot as the game went on. At times in the third, Quenneville threw stuff like Hlinka at right wing on the Stastny line, Hejduk on the Sakic line, Parker on the Arnason line, and Smyth on the pine line. 11.16.07Notes: Game 18, Avalanche at StarsNovember 16, 2007 {{pre}} It’s the Dallas broadcasters tonight, Ralph Strangis and Daryl Reaugh. I think DirecTV just stopped showing the Altitude feeds altogether, which annoys me a little bit; it looked like almost all the other games around the dial tonight had two feeds. Anyway Strangis and Reaugh are screwing me up because Strangis, the pbp guy, is on the right during the introduction – ass-backwards to what I'm used to. 11.16.07Bryzgalov waivedCurious news out of Anaheim today. Ilya Bryzgalov, touted as a hot commodity on the trade market this year, has been waived by the Ducks. The Ducks apparently are clearing the way for Swiss goalie Jonas Hiller. I can dig that (but, ask an Avalanche fan how that Swiss goalie thing might work out). I'm amazed, though, that the Ducks seemingly weren't able to get anything for Bryzgalov on the trade market. While I personally doubt that Breezy is the bonafide #1 many people are making him out to be, he still should have value to any number of teams with ...

11.16.07Preview: Avalanche at StarsAfter a four day layoff, the Colorado Avalanche visit the Dallas Stars tonight. The Avalanche are hoping to find their road mojo. I think the Avs home / road story has been told enough, so I won't fatigue your eyeballs with that today. The Stars are struggling around the .500 mark, and recently took the somewhat unorthodox step of firing their GM mid-season.
