08.30.07Knee surgery for TheodoreSomewhere, the guys at jibblescribbits are smiling. Jose Theodore will be out of action for a few weeks after having minor knee surgery. He's expected to miss "some" of training camp, which is often team talk for "most" of training camp. Wouldn't it be a hoot if, after all the talk of buying out Theodore's contract, he ends up not being able to even serve as an overpaid backup at the start of the season?

08.27.07Clark gets paidHe's spent years riding busses in hockey metropolises like Fredricton, Orlando and Hershey. He was so vital to his original club - the Canadiens - that they let him go in the 1999 expansion draft. He was so valuable to the team that took him in that draft - the Trashers - traded him for an AHL backup (Frederic Cassivi). 08.10.07Red Wings jerseys, Senators wordmark releasedAnother original 6 team has gotten it right. While the Predators and Panthers follow the credo that second-rate organizations deserve second-rate jerseys, the Red Wings are following the Bruins' they-don't-have-to-be-tacky lead. Detroit's new jerseys look pretty much like their old jerseys. And that's a good thing; if it isn't broke...leave it alone. One "ugh" element: the obnoxious size tag they are adding to front of all the jerseys. Yuck. Meanwhile, the Senators have leaked their new logo, and now have a preview of their new wordmark up as well. Their jerseys will be unveiled on August 22nd. I'm interested to see ...

Greg Wyshnyski does an outstanding job wading through all the BS that Eklund has heaped upon the internet hockey community to give us the real story. Well worth the read, especially for people who love to read Eklund's 100% fictional hockey rumors.
