Oiler's GM Kevin Lowe is again making a desperate plea to salvage his miserable summer. Unable to land quality free agents like Chris Drury or Scott Gomez or even not-so-quality guys like Michael Nylander, Lowe had to settle on defensive prodigy Sheldon Souray. He also tried to poach RFA Tomas Vanek from the Sabres which, in the end, only succeeded in pissing off Buffalo GM Darcy Regier.
