The Kings have traded pest Sean Avery to the Rangers as part of a multiplayer deal. The Rangers get Avery and LW John Seymour (a 7th round pick in 2005). The Kings get RW Jason Ward (10 pts in 46 games this year), F Jan Marek (8th round pick in 2003) and RW Marc-Andre Cliche (2nd rounder in 2005). Frustrating. Colorado needed to win. Colorado played well enough to win - or at least get a point. But they lost. I don't read many sports-related articles, so I have to admit I'm not familiar with Yahoo's Dan Wetzel. But after reading this article on the NHL's inept leader, Gary Bettman, I am a fan for life. Wetzel evaluates Bettman's job performance far more succintly than I could have. Someday, the league will have a competent commissioner. I just hope that happens before Bettman completely kills the league.
