The Avs play a key game tonight, as the welcome the Detroit Red Wings to town. It's the last game before the All-Star Break, and Colorado desperately needs points to stay in the playoff hunt. Detroit won the previous meeting 4-3 in a shootout, a game that probably will mark the official beginning of the Peter Budaj era in Colorado. Without his play, the Avs wouldn't have gotten a point. Not surprisingly, he will start tonight, his 11th straight start.
There had been reports that D Jordan Leopold might return tonight, which seems odd considering the Avs have a 5-day break ...
