09.12.06Ricky, don’t lose that numberFrom the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot department, Islanders backup goalie er, General Manager Garth Snow locked up goaltender Rick DiPietro for the next fifteen seasons. Snow was DiPietro's backup last year, before retiring to take the Isles GM job after Neil Smith was fired a few weeks into his tenure. Snow is 2 years younger than DiPietro will be when he stops receiving the $4.5 Million annual checks.

09.12.06Simon Says “Yes”Simon Gagne and the Flyers have reached an agreement on a new contract for the star forward. Gagne - who scored 47 goals last year playing with Peter Forsberg - is set to sign a five year deal for $5.25 million a season. A week ago, it looked like Gagne would not be in camp on the 14th with the rest of the team, but now we can start the Cup talk in Philly. Again.
